Credit Counseling Resources

According to a radio commercial most credit counselors work for the credit card companies. That's not hard to believe. I know several people who went for credit counseling and left with a brand new credit card and a new line of credit. In other words they got deeper in debt.

Finding a credit counselor can be tricky but here are some links to point you in the right direction.

Resources
  • Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Visit www.ftc.gov for consumer information.
  • Association of Independent Consumer Credit Counseling Agencies. Visit www.aiccca.org for names of credit counselors.
  • National Foundation for Credit Counseling. Visit www.nfcc.org for names of credit counselors.

Good luck!
