Xtreme Eating Awards 2009
This one is fun (or not). A registered dietitian has released her annual report on restaurants with the most fattening foods. If you think it's the fast food chains like McDonald's or Burger King guess again.
Xtreme Eating 2009: Care for an Entrée with Your Entrée? points a finger at family restaurants like Olive Garden, Macaroni Grill and T.G.I. Friday. She cites their huge serving sizes, deep fried foods and abundance of cheese. For example Uno's mega-sized deep dish sundae has 2,800 calories. The recommended daily calorie allowance for most women is only 2,000.
However, the Daily News has duly noted that some of our NYC favorites - such as a good old fashioned Nathan's hot dog - are low in fat and calories. Bun and all this all beef goody is only 296 calories if you hold the cheese. Check the source link to see whether your favorite is on either list.
