What Ever Happened to Joe Simon?
Remember R&B singer Joe Simon who sang The Chokin' Kind and Drowning in a Sea of Love? He's a bishop now. He's been preaching for 21 years and travels around the globe spreading the gospel.
In a recent issue of Jet magazine Simon said he does not miss singing soul music. Actually, he said he hated R&B but the benefits were good. In 1970 he won a Grammy Award for The Choking Kind and said he had all the material things a man could want; but none of that filled the void inside him.
Jet has then and now photos of Joe Simon. He looked good then and looks good in his robes now. Too bad Jet doesn't post their stories online. I guess you have to take my word.
