FDA Panel Urges Tougher Tylenol Regulation
Can you believe that acetaminophen the ingredient found in Tylenol and Excedrin is the leading cause of liver failure in the Untied States?
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) assembled a panel to identify ways to reduce liver damage associated with the drug. The group voted to ban Percocet and Vicodin which combine acetaminophen with narcotics. They also recommended lowering the maximum daily dose and single dose of acetaminophen in Tylenol and similar products. Who knew?
There is no word on whether the FDA will follow the advice of the panel but it usually does. Source
