What Ever Happened to Olympic Gymnast Dominique Dawes?
Remember gymnast Dominique Dawes who was the darling of the 1996 Olympics? Today she gives motivational speeches and holds gymnastics seminars but her heart is in TV broadcasting. She's actually in New York City at WNBC - Channel 4 for a summer crash course in TV production.
Dawes, 32, has learned how to shoot, write and edit stories. She's shot a couple of pieces as practice already. She expects her piece to hit NBC cable news channel NY Nonstop soon.
Maryland-based Dawes loves New York. She was an intern at NBC years ago and she did a stint in the Broadway production of Grease. She hopes to land a full-time job at Channel 4 so who knows? She may be here for a minute. Source
