For years cancer experts have warned that tanning beds and ultraviolet radiation are probable carcinogens. A recent analysis of about twenty studies concludes that people who begin to use tanning beds prior to the age of thirty increase their risk of skin cancer by 75%
Teenagers have been cautioned against using tanning beds for some time so none of this is new but it's certainly worth repeating.
An executive of a tanning bed trade association disputes this information. She says there is no proven link between the responsible use of tanning beds and skin cancer. She defines responsible use as no more than twenty times annually. Source
