You already know. She's still doing her thing. The native New Yorker will release a new CD this month. In Never Been Gone Carly Simon has reinterpreted her old songs with a new twist.
Simon had her first big hit That's the Way I Always Heard it Should Be in 1971. Since then she's been through "a couple of marriages and divorces" plus she's had children and her close friend died. The old songs have new meaning for Simon and she has changed the emphasis.
Ms. Simon was once married to James Taylor. Their daughter sings Boys in the Trees with her on the new CD. Apparently both her son and daughter sing with their mom. Their in-concert photo is on the Carly Simon website. Check it out. You will be surprised to read about her slow climb to fame.
