Mayor Bloomberg Endorses CWI Ban
We often say that guns and alcohol don't mix and Mayor Bloomberg agrees. Hizzoner and State Senator Jeffrey D. Klein announced proposed legislation last week that would make it illegal to carry a gun while intoxicated in New York State.
CWI would apply the same standards and tests as DWI. The misdemeanor offense would be punishable by one year in prison and a $10,000 fine. If passed, New York would be the 21st state to enact this type of law. Source
