NYC No. 6 Temporary Subway Station Closings
This is one of those "things will get worse before they get better" deals. MTA No. 6 subway line stations are about to have renovation work done. That means stations will be closed for months at a time. During the interim MTA is offering free transfers to buses that take passengers to the closest subway station along that line.
Yesterday the Morrison Avenue - Soundview and Whitlock Avenue stations shut down. The work is not expected to be completed until September. The Parkchester station is scheduled to close for renovation next month. Work begins on the St. Lawrence and Elder Avenue stations in 2011.
Cheer up. The stations will look good when the work is completed. Check the source link to read the Daily News article that describes the planned changes. Source
