Chi-Lites Singer Robert Lester Dies
Singer Robert "Squirrel" Lester died of cancer in his native Chicago last month at the age of 67. He was a founding member of the Chi-Lites, the group that brought us seventies favorites like Oh Girl and Have You Seen Her. Beyonce and Jay Z sampled the horns from their hit Are You My Woman for their hip-hop classic Crazy in Love.
The Chi-Lites began their singing career in the 1950s and traveled all over the world performing their music. Another original member Eugene Record died in 2005.
