Pete Nice of 3rd Bass: The Drama Continues

Last year we found out that Peter Nash aka Pete Nice of nineties rap duo 3rd Bass was entangled in legal drama. The former rapper is a well known sports memorabilia collector and dealer. He's even written two books.

It turns out that Nash knows more about sports than he knows about managing money. The Daily News reports that he's spent much of the last ten years dodging creditors and tax collectors, and tangled in legal and financial battles.

Rob Lifson and Nash used to get along quite well until Lifson claims that Nash failed to repay nearly $1 million that he borrowed from Lifson's company. In 2009 Lifson won a $760,000 judgment against Nash. In the course of identifying Nash's assets he discovered that Nash's father had loaned him unauthorized funds from a non-profit entity in order to avoid foreclosure on his home in 2007.

The senior Nash repaid the $50,000 but now Brooklyn prosecutors want to determine whether a criminal investigation is in order. If this sounds like one big mess, that's only because it is. Maybe this guy should have stuck with rapping.
