Gap Band Brother Robert Wilson Dies at 53
Bass player Robert Wilson died in his California home on Sunday of an apparent heart attack at the age of 53. He and his brothers Charlie and Ronnie Wilson formed the Gap Band and gave us hits that include Outstanding, Oops Upside Your Head and Yearning for Your Love.
The Gap Band reached their height of popularity during the eighties and then seemed to fall off the radar. Charlie Wilson returned to the scene as a solo artist in the new millennium, recording music with hip-hop artists like Snoop Dogg and Pharrell. Last year he went on tour to promote his latest CD. Robert Wilson had been touring for several weeks prior to his death. Source
