Former NFL Player David Meggit Gets 30-Year Prison Sentence
Former Super Bowl hero David Meggett, 42, was sentenced to thirty years in prison this week after being convicted in South Carolina on criminal sexual conduct and burglary charges. He was accused of raping a coed at her home in North Charleston in 2009.
Meggett's lawyer said the two had consensual sex in exchange for money that the woman owed but they later had an argument. Meggett plans to appeal the decision.
David Meggett was in the NFL for nine years, playing for the Giants, the Jets and NE Patriots. Since his football career ended he has had several arrests for assault and sexual misconduct. Source
