Reusable Grocery Bags Not Always Safe

Shoppers try to be environmentally conscious with reusable grocery bags but now it turns out that some of these synthetic bags contain high levels of lead, mostly the ones made in China. So far the offending bags have been sold at grocery store chains outside of New York City.

Our Senator Chuck Schumer has asked the Food and Drug Administration to investigate reusable bag manufacturers and ban those with unacceptable levels of lead.
